Pacific Place and the Cinerama aren't participating in SIFF this year! Instead SIFF is expanding to the Neptune (in the U District) and the Uptown (lower Queen Anne).
ARGH!
The Uptown is nowhere near Capitol Hill and the core SIFF theatres. It's impractical to get there in between films (whereas I could walk from Broadway to Pacific Place in a few minutes). I'm gonna miss 20% of the festival right there. The Neptune is only a 15-minute busride, but it's still pretty annoying. This totally fucks up my SIFF schedule; if I'd known ahead of time I might not have dropped $425 on a goddamn Full Series pass.
Not to mention that Pacific Place and Cinerama were the two large, modern, comfortable, cup-holder theaters. Now /all/ the SIFF venues are broken down uncomfortable dumps.
Goddamnit.
Why did they pull out of SIFF? Because it conflicts with the opening of Star Wars! STAR WARS! *bangs head on desk*
